Meet The Family
Mr. Danny and Mrs. Susie Kornegay
Danny Kornegay has farmed since he was old enough to drive a tractor. It is all he has ever wanted to do and all he has ever done. He found a perfect partner in his wife, Susie, who as a newlywed in 1973, began farming with her husband and father-in-law. Danny continues to work on the farm and in the packing house daily. He passes his love and knowledge of farming onto his 5 grandsons whenever he can. Susie’s days of heading up a crew in the field are long over, but she keeps her hands in the farm by managing the office and helping manage the five grandboys.
Dan Kornegay started working on the farm in high school and was heavily involved in Future Farmers of America (FFA), receiving state and national awards. He graduated from the Agriculture Institute at NC State University in 1997, came back to the family farm, and within a few years, became farm manager. When he is not farming, he can usually be found at a ballpark coaching his two sons in youth baseball.
Kim Kornegay-LeQuire was a stay-at-home-mom for a decade before joining the family business in 2012. She helps manage the farm office including payroll and invoicing. At the packing facility, she manages areas from the food safety program and quality control to sales and customer service and a little bit of everything in between. When away from the farm, she enjoys anything that involves supporting her family whether it be school, church, or scouting events.
